About Us

Twenty-one men attended the first meeting at the Valley Merchants Bank in 1991.  Our chapter quickly grew and now boasts about thirty members.  The Harmonizers perform all over the valley and in nearby cities.  We are available for performances and are currently booking for 2009.  If you would like us to perform at your next function, please contact  Larry Hull   951 654-1895; ufonius@msn.com

Beginning in 1996, we became affiliated with Mt. San Jacinto College.  The Harmonizers now meet as a Community Education Class in the Music Building on the San Jacinto Campus every Thursday at 7PM.

The barbershop style of singing is one of the very few uniquely American forms of music.  Beginning in the humble folk music traditions of the minstrel shows of the late 1800’s, barbershop quartets became extremely popular by the turn of the century.

Since the beginning of our Barbershop Society, we have had the purpose of preserving our special form of a cappella music.  And our motto is to “Keep the whole world singing!”
